More information about Radio City Sessions tickets

Showcasing the best in Country and Americana songwriting talent from across the UK and beyond, the Radio City Sessions are limited-audience events which take you behind the scenes of the songwriting process. Discover the stories behind the songs, get insights into the songwriting craft, and then hear the songs in the most ‘country’ way possible – a guitar and a vocal.

The songwriters' round is a staple of the Nashville music scene, and the Radio City Sessions capture the intimacy of those events, enabling you, the listener, to discover the stories behind the songs. Each artist performs their own music (whether this has been released under their own name or written for another performer) as well as a cover song that has a particular meaning for them.

Between each song, the artists will tell their stories, exploring their songwriting process and chatting with the other artists on the stage. There will be laughter, there will be fun and there may also be some tears!

This limited-audience event will once again bring the magic of country music to life in Chelmsford, set in the quirky surroundings of Chelmsford's best live music venue, Hot Box.

Featured Artists:

The Jackson Line - Featuring singers Keith Porter, Jamie Cook and Claire Williams, harmonies were always going to be front and centre in The Jackson Line, who deliver a modern take on classic Country and Americana. While they're comfortable sitting in the country genre, each member, including guitarist Jim Cross, brings a wide range of differing influences to the table to create thoughtful, melodic songs, which capture the essence of country while allowing their other influences to shine through.

Throughout 2023 and 2024, the band have been playing and releasing songs from their EP, California, recorded in Winnipeg, Canada with Juno Award-winning producer Murray Pulver (The Bros. Landreth, Katy Hurt). The first single, Shade of the Pines, featured on Apple Music’s 'Today's Country' editorial playlist, while the second, Gonna Get To You, was showcased on Baylen Leonard's Front Porch on Absolute Country as well as on Countryline Radio.

With recent sold-out shows at London venues such as the 229 and The Green Note, as well as festivals including Buckle & Boots, Black Deer and Tennessee Fields under their belts, The Jackson Line are delighted to once again be bringing their songs, stories and bad jokes to the Radio City Round Up.

Two Ways Home, the Anglo-Austrian duo of Isabella (Vienna) and Lewis Folkner (Gloucestershire), have crafted a unique sound blending folk-rock with a country twist. Inspired by artists like Lady A, The Lumineers, and Fleetwood Mac, their catchy melodies, lush harmonies, and rocky guitars have earned them extensive media coverage and radio play across the UK and Europe.

After a 35-show UK tour in 2019, they were crowned “Artist of the Month” by Caffé Nero and again in 2023 after a standout performance at the Black Deer Festival.
Known for their dynamic live performances, Two Ways Home have played prestigious venues and festivals such as The Shard, Under the Bridge, C2C, The Long Road and Victorious Festival to name a few. Despite the pandemic, they focused on writing new material and performing online, winning ‘Best Duo/Group’ at the Country Music Spotlight Awards.

With a string of new releases and a successful 'Round Up Tour' in 2023, the duo is creating an ever-growing buzz for their upcoming releases in 2024, promising more enticing shows and captivating performances.

Dan Owen

The second album from the Shrewsbury troubadour, The Willow Tree, landed on Nov 24th. The Willow Tree is Dan Owen’s most honest and real music to date. It contains songs written with songwriter royalty – the late, great Scott English and incredible guitar playing from Canadian master Ariel Posen.

Quote from Dan about the album:

“This is the album I’ve always wanted to make. From every word sang, every note played and even the unplanned dog barking in the background of Call Out, they’re all moments I’ll always remember”
